ISM Announces Dan MacLean as New Chair

The International Society for Micropiles (ISM) has announced Dan MacLean, P.Eng., as new chairman, succeeding acting chair, Allen W. Cadden of Schnabel Engineering.

MacLean is currently the business development manager at the regional office of Geo-Foundations Contractors in Acton, Ontario, Canada. MacLean has spent the past 15 years working in the geotechnical industry. Starting as a project manager for Geo-Foundations, he left in 2004 to work at Con-Tech Systems as an engineer. In 2014 he was named president of Con-Tech Systems before rejoining Geo-Foundations in 2016.

MacLean has been an active member of industry organizations and groups for many years. He is currently research chairman and national board member of the ADSC, and has been chair of the ADSC/DFI Micropile Committee and part of the PTI Committee for the latest rewrite of the Recommendations for Pre-Stressed Rock and Soil Anchors. The ADSC has twice awarded MacLean with the ADSC President Award in recognition of his efforts for the organization. He is also a member of the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), Canadian Geotechnical Society, Canadian Dam Association and Professional Engineers of Ontario. He is a graduate of Queen’s University with a degree in mining engineering.
